COVER TO COVER: Black and White by The Upper Room
To fulfill a birthday request I had to listen to a new song today, learn to play and sing it, then record and post. An endearing tune called “Black and White” by The Upper Room, an already defunct band from Brighton, England who released only one album “Other People’s Problems” in 2006 under Sony Records.
Personally I’m not a fan of this group, nor have I heard the other tracks in the album, but surely this song has killer pop hooks, not too flashy and is a candidate for pressing the play button repeatedly. Listen to the orginal track and watch the official music video HERE.
Happy birthday my colleague and good friend Antonette Maniquis!
Black and White – The Upper Room (Acoustic Cover)
I met her under a shelter
We were hiding from the rain
She was blowing bubbles
And I’ll never feel the same
Pain, pain, pain, pain, pain, pain
I’ll miss you in a minute
If you’ll only feel the same
Now it’s all black and white for me baby
It’s all black and white for me now
It’s all black and white for me baby
It’s all black and white for me now
Yeah
She held an orange bottle
And she drunk it with a straw
I watched her glide around
Around the people on the floor
Pain, pain, pain, pain, pain, pain
I’ll kiss you in a minute
If you’ll only feel the same
Now it’s all black and white for me baby
It’s all black and white for me now
It’s all black and white for me baby
It’s all black and white for me now
She threw a dart right through my shirt to my heart
Then came back later I had all but fallen apart
Pain, pain, pain, pain, pain, pain
Will she ever feel the same
Now it’s all black and white for me baby
It’s all black and white for me now
It’s all black and white for me baby
It’s all black and white for me now
Now it’s all black and white for me baby
It’s all black and white for me now
It’s all black and white for me baby
It’s all black and white for me now
