LENNON: an acoustic tribute
This will probably be a personal yearly tradition for me. I did the first one last year with details in my blog post Happy Birthday John! dated October 9. Singing his songs naked brings out a raw experience and understanding of his musical genius.
I plan to sing dozens of songs from John Lennnon’s solo years and Beatles era. I’m doubly excited because Kakoy Legaspi will be jamming along on guitars and mandolin while Vin Dancel will sing a number of psychedelic Lennon songs from The Beatles.
The poster art is actually a charcoal portrait in printed paper scored in Times Square and given to me by my stylist during her recent visit to New York. I took a photo of it using my mobile phone with vintage effects and added text using Picasa. 5 minute poster!
